Ford Mondeo Sydney

Ford Mondeo, designed as a world car, was expected to replace earlier models like the Sierra in Britain, the Telstar in Asia and Ford models in Sydney. The car design, built on an entirely new platform, incorporated advances in automatic and manual transmission, and better designing courtesy subtly designed rear and front.

Ford Mondeo was launched in 1993 in four door saloon, five door hatchback and five door estate variants, and came in the petrol as wells as diesel version. The launch of the Ford Mondeo was seen as facelift for the company which was supposedly overrun by accountants. The six billion dollar car was seen as an attempt to revert the control back to the engineers.

Newer versions of the Ford Mondeo, the Mondeo LX Hatch and the Mondeo Zetec Hatch, feature the latest in passenger safety including ABS braking technology and airbags. These cars have become very popular in Sydney because they include the latest in comfort and style including the latest in climate control technology, dynamic stability, Bluetooth connectivity, voice control and speed control.

The Mondeo was the first car to feature airbags in all its versions; also, featuring side-impact bars and seat belts as standard features in all its models. Its higher models featured ABS for better control in tricky driving conditions. This front engine car came in front wheel drive and four wheel drive capability. The four wheel drive transferred power to the rear wheels in slippery conditions helping the car to navigate through tough driving conditions in Sydney.

With a maximum curb weight of 1611 kilograms, Ford Mondeo provided comfort and drivability in all kinds of conditions making it very popular in places like Sydney, London and so on. The car has won all kinds of awards for its performance including "Car of the year" award from Top Gear.
